Mommy

How can I thank you for giving me life
Not just once but more than twice
Sometimes i just want to lie in bed and cry
But you give me a reason to not die

You never stopped believing in me
Always telling there was so much I could be
And even when I gave up on living
You never turned your back on giving

Letting me know you were there
And at least one person would forever care
I caused you so many days of pain
And to be honest I probably will again

I cannot promise to always do what is right
or ever make you feel pride or delight
I cannot count all the times I have let you down
Or when I turned your smile into a frown

I can however promise to try my best
And maybe one day you will be impressed
I honestly want to make you proud one day
I promise my love for you will never go away
