I Miss You

by Kristyn   Sep 13, 2004

Remember long ago
The nights we'd sit and talk
And evenings after church
We'd take a nice long walk
On the winter nights
The cold would sting our noses
Make our cheeks so pink
We'd flush as red as roses
And on the summer ones
We'd sit upon the hill
The quiet sky above us
And everything so still
Our laughter would fill the air
As many jokes were told
I know that these sweet memories
Were for our hearts to hold
I'm not sure what happened
I question what went wrong
But soon there things stopped happening
We lost some of our bond
I thought I could forget
And end the pain I felt
But every time I heard of you
My heart began to melt
It was then I knew I loved you
You were one of my best friends
And it killed me deep inside
To think this is one that ends
I knew I had to see you
So I returned to church
And the smile upon you face
Made my nervous stomach lurch
How much I had missed you
Hadn't been so clear
At least until that moment
When I fought to hide a tear
I didn't think we'd get another chance
That what we had was gone
But then I spoke to you again
And I knew it'd been too long
I again returned to church
To make one final try
And then it finally hit me
Once again I fought not to cry
Doe what I know now
Makes me burst with glee
\'BecauseGracie Jo, I love you
And best friends I pray we'll forever be
