Die with the dusk, dragon

by SCARECROW   Sep 14, 2004

I know this is really lame and the name is lamer but I wrote this when I was, like, 9 or 10. Honestly. I've never written about dragons since.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The dragon stumbled into it's lair,
And laid down it's head in deep despair,
The sword that had pierced it's heart was pure,
The pain that it caused was impossible to endure,
It thought of the days when it was young,
And knew in it's heart that doom had come,
It's blood-red eyes were filled with tears,
From the thoughts and memories of it's earlier years,
It knew that it would never see tomorrow,
It's heart and it's mind were drowning in sorrow,
Closing it's eyes it heaved a sigh,
As it silently bid the world goodbye.
