You were so amazing...a true star. But I never got too close, just watched from afar.
The quiet little girl, whom you always saw as just that. So rebellious and wild, but never a brat. She loved you sooo deeply, and never knew you cared, too. What would you have done if she'd confessed her love for you?
They all thought she was crazy for loving a man so out of her range. But she never had a single doubt, or thought it was the least bit strange.
Just because you were different, and didn't follow the crowd. It didn't make her give up; she just became more proud.
She would have done anything to have you by her side. But she had to keep from getting hurt, so all she did was hide.
She hid everything so deeply: emotions, feelings, love and tears, that soon the love she had for him began to disappear.
When he smiled at her, she'd look at the ground. Or if he waved, she'd only frown.
So when his smiles and waving stopped she wasn't hurt or even shocked. It was for the best, she would tell herself, and then cry as she looked at his picture perched on her shelf.
