You Were Gone

It seemed like only yesterday that I held you in my arm's.

I was shocked by your beauty and amazed by your charm.

Your smile would light up the darkest of skies. Like a night with no stars and where the moon did not rise.

But then there came this guy, this thing, I could not describe.

He came and took you away from me.
He didn't know you were mine.

A few choice words were said. A few fists were thrown. I could not control myself. It was like an anger had grown.

When it was all said and done you looked at me crying. It periced through me like a dagger. It felt like I was dying.

Then you walked away without even saying a word. Only the silent screams were inside you were heard.

You pass me in the hall without a word being said, never looking at me, never back, but straight ahead.

It seemed like only yesterday that I held you all night long. It seemed like only yesterday...then you were gone.
