Highest Virtues

by Michael D Nalley   Sep 15, 2004

Love is the cause of all true belief
God is love and His love is relief
My faith is in the giver, not in the thief
The evil thief is hate, and only gives grief

God gives me hope, and causes me to care
Without hope I have not got a prayer
The thief offers no hope, only despair
But my God offers hope everywhere

If we could see the beauty of hope it could always find
The way into our, love hungry, heart, soul, and mind
But in, life's journey, as the road does wind
The master of despair can rob us blind

I am afraid, without the highest virtues that we cannot unite with ‘The Most High'
But with faith, hope, and charity the spirit lives forever, though the body may die
I believe this was the message brought by the One the world would crucify
Let us not fall into the pit of doubt, despair, and hate, let us reach for the sky
