To a Better Place

by fear no pain   Sep 15, 2004

Cast out of society
Shunned from the world
All because of imperfection
She became an abnormal girl

Painted in black
A bitter little soul
She didn't want to conform
Or do what she was told

Nobody gave her the time of day
Except for their childish antics
She wore all black
Her mother became frantic

No one ever knows
Just what's in her soul

She tries to hide
The pain that's inside

No one understands
The pain she cannot bear
She covers up the scars
With the black things she wears

Her long dark hair
Covers her elegant face
It's like she's a ghost
There without a trace

She writes her feelings down
All in one long letter
Telling everyone goodbye
Hoping that it gets better

She goes into the bathroom
Fear written all over her face
Takes a deep breath and says
"I'm going to a better place"

She runs all the faucets
Shuts and locks the door
Stares at the glaring blade
Lying calmly on the floor

She thinks about the people
Who are just like that knife
Tearing her apart
All throughout her life

She slowly kneels to the ground
And crawls over to the place
Where her life might end
This could be her fate

Slowly bringing her face to it
She stares at it with her eyes
Nobody will ever know
Or ever realize

"Nobody has ever cared
Why would they start now?"
She thinks to herself
While crying on the ground

She feels cold and naked
"No one ever cares!"
She screams
But no one is there

Nobody hears her cries
Just like she said
Everyone left her
They don't care if she's dead

Her family is gone
She has no friends
No one cares
That this is her end

She slowly brings the knife
Closer to her face
Takes a deep breath and says
"I'm going to a better place"

She slits her wrist
A jump of pain
With this movement
Her soul is slain
