The day you grow up

by Maria   Sep 15, 2004

Three years ago
I gave my heart to you
you embraced it with open arms
And you gave me yours too.
You treated me like a queen,
And always made sure I knew you loved me.
But now things have changed,
What used to be will never be the same.

All the nights that we’ve made passionate love
Is now just a memory in my head
And every night before I sleep
I lay down in my bed
I try to think about it
But for each day that passes it slowly fades.
And then I realise your love for me
Was as false as the masks you use
to a masquerade.
They are supposed to make your face look like something else,
But deep down under its still the same face that remains.
So no matter what you do,
You’ll always have to face the truth…
And believe me it will happen
The day you grow up
And you find yourself
You’ll see the real you.
