You can't help what the heart feels
So sue me if I'm in love
Kill me for all the passion I felt
Excuse me for feeling higher than above

My head slips under water
From all the tears that I've cried
Watching you as you walk away
Watching as our love died

I've moved onto bigger things now
Though it feels like you're still here
Drawing farther away from you
But somehow you're still near

Things of my past
Things I can't control
Things that are breaking my heart
Things that have taken its toll

You understood all of them
You seemed to get me just right
Now you've walked out on me
Are you missing me tonight

Does it make you wonder
What this life's really all about
Is it just some foolish game
Driving you mad Round and about

All I can say is come back soon
Don't leave me here for too long
And if you just don't get this poem
Then maybe one day I'll write a song
