Human Disease

by Robert   Sep 16, 2004

In packs we travel from place to place
a harem of love bound by a family grace.
We hunt to feed our cubs and us alike,
over hills through valleys on an endless hike.
Teeth of sharp points and fur to keep us from the cold,
but then we are skinned by farmers where our fur is sold.
We are the race that has given the red man stories of delight,
a companion we are always beyond touch but in sight.
We mate for life for that is our way,
and we hunt in packs to kill our prey.
Nothing will stop our hunger but the reddest of meat,
and we will seldom back down or pause to retreat.
I and my kind will hunt until the world is set ablaze,
a being walking through the forest just beyond the haze.
In packs we will reign like no other has done to date,
but even your kind is entangled in our fate.
The dog you have brought to your home you have made them your slave,
for they are husks waiting for their graves.
They can't hunt or live like they please,
for humans it is not us but you are the disease!!!

you got a thing with animals. i think its interesting. because all animal life is human life at its most primal. what we learn from animals we can learn from ourselves. like this one for example made me think of our strong family ties, and our pride in ourselves. its very interesting subjects. which makes your poems interesting. good job. keep up the good work.
