Memoria

by Bryce Ellner   Sep 17, 2004

Above the clouds high in the sky
There was one fortress of great size
But ordinary it was not
For it held were memories and thoughts
It gloomily sits above the tree of life
A wonder to behold, a magnificent sight.
And yet it grows with each memory and dream
But never does it crumble, nor rust it seems.
It is a time place that has no end.
A vault for all that is fact or pretend
All knowledge and wisdom locked behind its walls
A palace, a haven for one and all
Can you imagine such a place drifting above?
A sanctuary for all that is what was.
Such a place seems only a fairy tale
Like a legend the size of the great white whale.
It is true that you may not see it
Such a place would be thought incapable to visit.
But you will not find it here in reality
For it exists in a world of pure fantasy.
Rubbish you say? Fantasy is not so?
Oh but it is, it exists in a place we all know
In a place where anything is possible
Where the laws of nature bend and break as if invisible
But only the believers may venture there
And believers nowadays are very rare.
If you will, go visit Memoria one day
You might remember something spectacular, the stars light your way.

(This is my poem that I based "Il Costello De Memoir" off of)

When I first wrote this poem, I didnt really like it. I thought it was too long and too out of sync, but I guess it kind of grew on me. It's sequal is Il Castello Di Memorie if you'd like to read that. Its the same basic concept, just written a little later in my life.
