The Promise Ring

You told me with a kiss
"We will always be together",
Then you looked into my eyes to say
"I promise to love you forever".

You then gave me a huge box
And inside was yet another,
When one tiny box was left, you said
"I will never leave you for some other".

I opened the box to find a gorgeous ring
And saw in your eyes that you were true,
You leaned in close to say to me
"I promise to always love you".

I knew this ring would bring us closer
And would give us hope from above,
This ring means a lot and I sincerely said
"I promise you're my only love".
