My Wife, My December

by DMG   Sep 21, 2004

Seven years of my life
Almost three thousand days,
My beloved wife,
Never ceases to amaze.
I cherish her so much,
But the feelings aren't returned,
And this past month,
For her love I have yearned.
We began beautifully,
Holding hands while we kissed
At our wedding ceremony.
Oh those lips I have missed.
Because now we don't kiss,
Nor do we even talk.
She won't look at me,
Passes by as she walks.
I say “Dear beloved,”
But she just ignores.
I follow behind her,
In my face she slams the door.
What is the reason?
Our one little fight?
I've moved on from the past,
And from that one night.
That night hurt me deeply,
I still wonder why,
She chased me with a knife,
Praying that I die.
But after tiresome running,
We fell to the ground,
And fell asleep together,
People gathered around.
Woke up the next morning,
My wife was gone.
People were crying,
As they looked down on.
I stood up in front of them,
And said not a word.
And I ran from the crowd,
My memory blurred.
The previous night,
I could vaguely remember.
Depressed I was,
Almost my December.
But I was alive,
Death had not yet come.
I had survived,
But my mood was glum.
Why had she attacked me?
I did not know,
I kept on walking,
To home I would go.
And when I got home,
And opened the door,
She was curled up,
Crying on the floor.
I walked up to her,
Put my hand on her shoulder,
Stroked her cheeks,
Her skin turned colder.
She was upset,
This I could tell.
I went to change clothes,
I reeked of a smell.
She walked in the room,
And fell into bed,
I looked in her eyes,
Many tears shed.
She said nothing at all,
And went to sleep.
And ever since that day,
She always weeps.
She still says nothing,
Nor does she even look,
Makes meals for herself,
Never for two does she cook.
One night ruined everything,
But I want to move on.
But reality has finally hit,
She killed me.....I'm gone.
