I still love you but...

by Jacki   Sep 21, 2004

We aide the rich,
yet not the poor.
Statics say were
pretty damn broke.
I hate my president and
the damn administration.
I love my country
just hate the people
running it.
Why do we fight
when war is not the answer?
Why are we bullies
when were really
powerless within our
own societies?
I'm only 22
yet grow up in a world
full of hatred and
wars.
I would have rather
grew up in a world
full of love and support.
No instead i was blessed with
being poor,
struggling to survive
while my leaders look down
upon my own existence.
I love you America,
sometimes my judgment
gets distorted and blocked.
But truly I do just
hate the damn president,
and everybody supporting
him.

The War in Iraq Cost the United States
$136,203,058,151

Instead, we could have fully funded global anti-hunger efforts for 5 years.

What kind of world am I living in where war is more important than starving children?

I like, I like , I like. and its not just because i encourage anything/anyone that makes Bush appear in a bad light. mind u, he does a pretty good job of that himself. i mean no leader is perfect, they all lie, but Bush, well hes just the lowest of the low. i mean everything about him is dodgy, even his actual election was contoversial. i live in Britain but the idea of Bush being in power for 4 moe years makes me very worried especially since our no good prime minister is his lapdog. i could go on 4 days but i won't. great poem, it made me think - xmollyxx

ok so you hate going to school but you love your teacher, so what you're trying to tell me is that just because i go to school i should love my school and my teacher because they go hand on hand?

That is not true. That is the reason why we have elections. The idea is that if the people don't like the way the country is being run, we elect other people that we think will do a better job. At least that's the ideal scenario.

well i disagree, but its jusut me. if america was in the position iraq was you KNOW you would want the super power of the world to come and save you. You cannot love this country without supporting its government even if you do not like it.
