Can You Hear Me Now, My Echo

by The Plain Truth   Sep 22, 2004

Ever since I was little,
I had always looked up to my sister.
She was everything I had,
Now all I do is miss her.

Many Miles have taken us,
So far away from each other.
I miss her more than anyone,
Though I have another sister and brother.

Her given name is Echo,
So cute, and unique.
It describes her very well,
Or so I like to think.

I remember when our Grandma died,
It was the day after Christmas.
She let me stain her shirt with tears,
This was not on my wish list.

I remember all the hugs she gave me,
Recognizing when I was sad.
She was the first to comfort me,
When others made me feel bad.

It hurts me deep inside,
When I see how others use her.
Taking Advantage of her kindness,
Fighting off each abuser.

I can't stand the way they hurt her,
Niceness is a weakness unknown.
She was the only one there for me,
Now I am all alone.

In a way she is like my mother,
Always looking out for me.
When I need to think things through,
She just lets me be.

Although I've never told her,
I love her like no other can.
She has a little sister,
As her greatest fan.

Thank you for asking, Chris. I'm alright, just a little depressed, as usual. Means a lot that you care. ;)
