I want to live!

The shadow has taken over for so long,
I am so tired of him wooing me with his desparity song;
Too long my eyes have been covered, not allowing me to see,
It's been forever since I saw the world's beauty.

Things are not perfect, maybe they never will be,
But I have been a fool for not thanking God for His generosity;
I have my girlfriend, my sister, friends, and family too,
But for an interminable time I have remained blue.

I have heard: This too, shall pass away,
Now I know, I must take it day by day;
If need be, hour by hour, or minute by minute,
It's MY life: I want to live in it!
