To move on

by Sarah ala bella   Sep 23, 2004

I cringe at the sight of you with her. She is beautiful. I guess my beauty wasn’t enough for you. I miss the soundless whispers from your inner heart, speaking out its name. This twisting proportional reality is taking a downward plunge into the deep, dark, wordless endless NOTHING. Your smile stretches itself far past the infinite destination. But it is not me you smile at, it is her. This heart was crushed, stepped on, and pushed down further into the earth than one could ever imagine. Now it’s all a matter of picking myself up and moving on. We are in an open field. You at one end, I at the other. The wind carries our voices across the meadow. "I love you" "and I you". I take one step and like a blink of an eye you're right in front of me. I go to set my lips upon yours. They are but the purest lips one could ever touch. Something is keeping us apart. A glass that cannot be perturbed. Only you can break the glass. But no, you have her now. What’s the point of being vulnerable to anything that can come your way. You have her to love. Break me
