Wartime

by Nefarius   Sep 23, 2004

I pull the trigger once and twice
Bodies falling- then comes thrice
The battle rages and I shoot
Hell is spitting out no good

My shells are flying through the air
Yet I see no guilt to bear
The enemy is marching on
I shoot them down- one by one

Bombs are turning green to brown
Destroying a sweet little town
And tanks are spitting out their lead
They will be the biggest threat

The gun is living in my hands
Once I knew the sense of friends
Now comrades are there to die
I feel their dead souls passing by

I hear the war-cries, they are all forlorn
Hear the bloody scream, when life is torn
Demonic slaying I see everywhere
As if the dark one himself was there

Will I ever forget this horror-show?
This will be my punishment- I know.
