Revenge

by UM   Sep 23, 2004

Alive and well,
The bugs crawl.
Incubated inside,
Consuming all.

Eating away,
Slowly and surely.
Undermining foundations,
Bringing death prematurely.

Fueled by anger,
Fed by hate,
Mind so clouded,
Nothing to contemplate.

Pushed to the edge,
But not willing to acquiesce.
Harassment is never-ending,
unrelentless.

Actions decided,
No turning back,
Unafraid of
The Badge of Black.

Harassed once more,
It will be the last.
Anger let out,
In the form of a blast.

Still not satisfied,
Still not cleansed.
Thrilled and elated,
Sweet, sweet revenge.

A spree gone on,
Several more blasts.
Leaving wounds,
That need more than casts.

All for what?
Selfdestructive revenge?
With nothing left,
A blast takes him to the end.

I take back my comment on "I am the Caged Bird." Although it was awesome, I like this one better. It's a very true and meaningful poem. Great job.
