I Can Be...

by Carrie   Sep 23, 2004

I can be what you want me to be,
I can be your puppet on a string,

It's time to stand up and fight,
for life that's not quite paradise,

It's time to make an impression,
To shed this shell of opression,

I can be what you want me to be,
I can be your puppet on a string,

But, I wont, I wont be your crutch,
Because to you, I don't mean much,

It's time to get back on my feet,
Lay in bed and actually sleep,

To eat food and taste it first,
To make the best out of the worst,

Without you, I stand alone,
With you, I stand -a clone,

Of everything you want of me,
And not quite what I want to be,

So, tell me now, can I choose?
How much is there left to lose?

I can't be what you want me to be,
Someday, you will see.
