As I Look Back

As I look back on it
I can not seem to get it through my head
That what we once had is gone
It is completely and emotionally dead

I remember those times we laughed
And even those when we would cry
Although we had our problems
We were both willing to rectify

You made me a better person
Mainly because you saw the good in me
With you there was so much excitement
And for once I was really happy

I remember that look you gave
So deep in your eyes
And that feeling being around you
Gave me butterflies

But as I look back
As I so badly wish there was still an “us”
I still feel horrible
For wrongly betraying your trust

Every second I spend on the thought you
Makes my day so worthwhile
I sometimes close my eyes
Just to visualize your sweet smile

We were flawless
You were self explanatory
I could see it in your eyes
The way you felt for me

But Now that is finished
And now we are not intact
All because of the way an Unwanted person
Chose to handle it and react

I write this as
Tears rapidly stream down my cheek
And with every word I write
My heart becomes ever more weak

As each tear flows
Each is a memory of you
And I can not make them stop
No matter what I do

So as I visualize us together
And daydream all day long
I just seem to sit and think
Of what went to horribly wrong
