Rain

by Shædow Poet   Sep 24, 2004

Thoughts like flowing waterfalls
Rushing throughout my head
Cutting, hurting, burning wishes
My imaginary, wishing me dead.

The gushing water droplets tumble
And my thoughts cease to be
The bleeding is washed away
The flames stop scorching me.

How can this natural occurrence,
Stop me wishing my death?
Like it cleanses my once-broken spirit
And returns the pace to my rhythmic breath.

As I stand out with open mouth
The drops collect on my peachy tongue
I cannot help a smile escaping
For I know how much pain I could've done
It's saved me.

My clothes, saturated in clear liquid
Slowly washing away my sanity
Shielding me from this messed up life
Away from humans hostility.

Staring at me in wonder, they are
My foolish display to wash away the pain
But even when the delusion ends
I know, I loose and find, my sanity in rain.
