The Angel and the Outlaw

by Michael D Nalley   Sep 24, 2004

There once was an angel who didn't obey laws
Falling from the Light, fighting for a lost cause
Who could understand what was in its mind?
Though God gave it eyes, it chose to be blind

The fallen angel entered into the heart of a child
The child lost its peace and became angry and wild
Then there was an outlaw who did not think life is fair
The outlaw broke the laws and the outlaw didn't care

The fallen angel met the outlaw and they began to play
An imaginary game of love until the truth got in the way
The outlaw drank from the well of illusion that didn't satisfy thirst
The angel stole from the outlaw and the bubble was burst

The outlaw received mercy. The outlaw began to see the light,
The light stolen by a fallen angel in the darkness of the night
But the fallen angel still seemed to want something more
And knelt before the repentant outlaw as if to adore

The outlaw was puzzled and thought this is very odd
The fallen angel should be knelling humbly before God
Did the angel see in the outlaw the true Prince of love and peace?
Or did it seek the prince of darkness evil that will not cease?

It is so sad to see a child of God running from the truth that will set it free
And the laws of heaven and laws of earth made for peace and harmony
