Home and Back Again in 33 Minutes Flat

by Stumbling Shaman   Sep 24, 2004

Once again I'm struck by feelings
That I struggle to define
Coercing me into revealing
What lies behind these ancient eyes
Half formed thoughts begin to tumble
Through my quiet mind
Endless streams of whys and hows
Fill up my space and time

Inspiration, deviation
No one really knows
Where one begins and the other ends
Or from where they truly flow
Contemplation's the only friend
On whom I can always depend
Directing me and testing me
Throughout this game called life

Nothing lost, nothing gained
All will change and stay the same
As I roam around and round
Searching for myself
Turning within I begin to realise
The true depths of the human soul
And for a while I lose myself
To the flow of the Tao

Enlightenment is unfurled
As silence echoes through my world
Alone and empty I make my peace
With all the universe

Timeless wisdom, unstruck sounds
All and nothing is all I've found
I stand between two infinite worlds
In which we all exist
A single candle in the eternal night
Burns as bright as the sun
A mountain peak on the ocean floor
One is All and All is One

Idle thoughts interject
And I tumble back down to earth
To be immersed in the human sludge
Of worry and regret
Lessons learned, soon forgotten
Fear and Love then back to fear
Is this growth, or just a cycle
Til the end of Time?
