The way the world works
seems to be unfair
especially when some things
are taken without care

I still cannot forget
the last words you said to me
they are inbedded in my mind
it's what you wanted me to see

You wanted me to see the world
to not hold anything back
to be who I want to be
to go where I want to be at

You said you see me in the future
being someone great
where my name is known everywhere
to deny it would become a debate

You told me not to worry
that I would be be okay
but now it's time to let go
because you had to go away

Still to this day
you are still in my thoughts
every sentiment I have of you
I keep them in a box

Even though you're gone
you said we will never be apart
