Set Free

You courted me like a friend I never had,
showing me there was trust in this lad.
You shed tears for me to ease my pain,
knowing in the end there was something for you to gain.
You spoke of friendship of the heart,
and said true friends would never part
I believed you in all you said,
but little did I know you wanted me dead.
You took my life because you envied it all,
you opened the door so I could take the fall.
My son calls you father and my lover is in your hand,
and you walked away as they tried to bury me in the sand.
I cried out how could you do this to me,
and you simply smiled and said your soul is now free.
What seemed like hours I waited for some savior to appear,
to finally take away this fear.
Then something happened, I never expect it would,
a voice demanding me to live, telling me I could.
It was metallic, this voice that called my name,
and it told me I was not to blame.
Lost and alone I had one thing to hang on too,
the vision of seeing only you.
I wondered through a world I knew nothing of,
only to be stripped of anything I loved.
Helpless, and wary I found a mentor that helped me succeed,
and then a plot unfolded in my mind to pay off your greed.
My world became a means to an end,
and I vowed that you would see me, my friend.
I sold what I could to gather the cash for my trial,
and watched each move you made with a certain smile.
You never knew I was so close but yet so far,
I was going to give you the token of my heart's scar.
Then when the final trigger was placed for your untimely greed,
I choked your financial life, out like a weed.
I took from you all that you have taken in jest,
I poured hell down your throat so you would be Satan's guest.
Then out of pity or what some may say mercy, I gave to you,
a gun with one bullet to run true.
I said you gave me no choice when you did this to me,
take this bullet and let your soul be free.
You pulled the trigger and closed your eyes,
and I watched as they carried you to your demise.
Yes you were alive and you had to see,
the old friend you turned to hate you, was me.
You pleaded for your life and told me to have mercy once more,
I looked into your eyes and you saw what was in my core.
The greed you had, gave birth to the hate in me,
now it is my final revenge that will set you free.

I took from you all that you have taken in jest,
I poured hell down your throat so you would be Satan's guest.
This has to be my favorite part. Again the imagery was vivid, and the emtions were poiuring out with every word. Well writen peice of poetry you have here. 5/5

Nice poem... I don't truly like the style of it; I think that if it was more in stanzas (even two sentence ones) then it would seem less cluttered and easier to read, but, that's just a readers opinion.
Very... vengeful. It reminds me of the movie "vertigo", I like it, it's a nice dark poem, however realistic it seems (and could be).
"Then something happened, I never expect it would,
a voice demanding me to live, telling me I could.
It was metallic, this voice that called my name,
and it told me I was not to blame."
Those were my favourite lines in this poem, the "metallic" really drew my imagination.
    A nice effort! Well done!

Hmm, I don't really know what to say about this poem. Some parts I truly enjoyed, but there were some parts that I think need some more work, some parts that are a bit clumsy. Work on those a bit more, but otherwise good poem, very expressing words you used.
