Give me a Reason

by dandy   Sep 26, 2004

Give me a reason for smiling, for I fear that I have none.
This life, schoolwork, condemning words........
I know have just begun.

I've only started living,
yet I do not know what for.
I'm giving up. I say 'uncle'.
I can't take this anymore.

So overwhelmed, I hate this feeling.
I have no time to myself.
I'm ready to tear the pages from the book of life,
and stuff it on a shelf.

No time to do what I would like,
I'm doing crap for teachers and such.
We're not students, to them we're slaves,
oh I despise them much.

Some people are always happy,
with there head up on cloud nine.
Your life may be joyful right now,
though that's not the case with mine.

My parents tell me highschool is the best,
and enjoy it while I can.
I'd be happy if I woke up tomorrow
and never saw highschool again.

Best time of my life....I think not;
for my lullaby is woe.
So if you ask "Is there a reason to smile?"
Expect me to say no.
