Perfect White Roses

by Aaron L   Sep 26, 2004

You are the beautiful one, with nothing to say
If I had the chance, you'd get a special bouquet
Perfect white roses, with a small card within
Saying, "I fell in love, but I do not know when"

It probably wouldn't make sense to you that day
But soon the roses would die, slowly turning gray
So you will dry them out, and keep them secure
Not knowing what they meant, still you're unsure

Then one night, as you're trying hard to fall asleep
You realize what the flowers meant, beginning to weep
The roses symbolized the loved between you and I
And even the most beautiful things in life seem to die

You might even keep the card, and read it again
Still it says, "I fell in love, but I do not know when"
You see, when I wrote my poems, and my stupid rhymes
I fell in love with you all over, so many times

But the roses still remain, no matter what their age
Just like sentences in a book, or poems on a page
Memories last forever, even though you already knew
And for giving me memories of love, I want to thank you
