It never will be

by Mild insomnia   Sep 26, 2004

Yes, I once believed,
In you, and everything else,
But now I see,
I can’t even save myself.

Why preach about a world,
That never will be,
About a place,
I won’t live to see,
About a life,
Where we all live in peace.

I know the truth now,
I figured out the problem,
I’m not so sure how,
But I’m sure we can rescue them,
The ones we lost…

Why tell me lies,
When I know better?
Why twist and turn,
That stormy weather?
I’m not a child,
I’ll deal with whatever.

It’s growing cold,
Yet my eyes- a sparkling stone,
I see the world below,
Unaware of this nightmare.

The light will fade,
I’ve seen it in dreams I evade,
Into the darkness I shall wade…

Stop cheating me,
I see right through you,
Why don’t you see?
What we have to do,
The dream you speak of,
I trust that it’s true.

So help me fight,
What’s inevitable.
This endless night,
I’m sure we’re able,
To battle on,
Turn this frickin’ table.

Why tell me lies?
We both know the truth.
Stop cheating me,
I see right through you,
Where is this life?
Where we all live in peace?
