Drowning Fault

by Shædow Poet   Sep 27, 2004

Gasp, scream, quiver in fear
The land separates miles apart
This icy cold liquid, you hate
Will swallow citizen's whole.

Don't rock the boat!
You may find your death
But the boys kept swaying with laughter
Naive people, they never think.

One joke too far
One push too forceful
One incident causing demise
Loosing life for one mistake.

The boat turns upside down
The possession fall to the deep blue
As well as the bodies of those young boys
Whose fault this occurrence lies with.

Could you ever imagine
The water crushing around you?
The hollow sound of endless streams
The numb feeling of icy water.

One lad grabs onto the boat
His clammy hands clutch the surface
Yet his grip slips with the slick touch
His body falls under the cruel ocean.

Let's make you image
How it's like to feel this death
Your lungs bursting
Your hands desert you from grasp.

Another boy flaps his arms
With water splashing into his foggy eyes
He becomes tired with every shriek
Eventually his strength falters.

How would you ever feel
If you were fighting for survival?
Your body gives up its little strength
And you sink until you drown.

The last boy watches the others
Try to save themselves from death
He can't image life without his friends
And doesn't fight to join the rest.

*I know, not the best, if you don't like non-rhyming this isn't the poem for you*

WOW. this is great, very unique topic which i like. i have a fear of being under water and drowning so i found it pretty scary and really sad. great job- and don't worry about it not rhyming, the flow is still great. xmollyxx
