Candlewick

by Flame   Sep 28, 2004

The wick's burnt
Down too low
Being engulfed by
It's own wax
That's pooled around it
The wick shines red
And the spark glows blue
So I decide to
Let it burn out
All on it's own
Then I think -
"Why prolong it's
Dying existance?"
And with one little breath
I erase the little flicker
I end it's short life
Snuff it out...
And sit in the manufactured
Beams of my artificial light,
The proud executioner
Of one feeble flame
