True Friends

by livefreebright   Sep 29, 2004

When I was with you my friends were pushed aside
I thought that I could talk to you and secrets you'd confide
But now I see it wasn't true at all
You weren't the one who caught my fall
Only true friends did and I owe more then one
When they rescused me all you did was run
I wouldn't believe you could hurt me so
I just didn't want to let you go
My true friends advised me on what to do
I didn't listen but my fears still grew
You let me fall onto the cold floor
I wanted to die there and feel no more
My friends came and found me
They brought back the light and I could see
Through good and bad there always around
To lift us all off of the ground
I realized how lucky I am to have them here
To wipe away each and every tear.
