Leaving Hope

by Brandon Evans   Sep 29, 2004

Dreams still carry her sound
A haunting voice in the night
Memories of splendor and lore
Fuel emotions waiting to ignite

An eerie stillness hangs in the air
Disturbing a fragile accord
Illusions of yesteryear fresh in the morrow
Memoirs of life; could not be ignored

Debates of fault leave questions
Who upon the finger rests?
Innocence, a fabrication
Each refused to hear their requests

Problems incur resolutions
Bonds, broken, can be repaired
Failure imminent, only through ignorance
A foresight known well, yet we’re never prepared
