Hell

by David Munoz   Sep 29, 2004

The sky is dark
And the stars are bright
And I stand in a field
In the calm of night

The mist is all around me
Like a cloud swarming at my feet
Concealing all the shadowed creatures
Hiding all I should meet

The sacred trees lay stricken
Stripped of all life and green
Standing grouped in ghostly shapes
Casting harsh shadows on the scene

The trees begin to sway
But not a sound do they make
The mist begins to swirl around
Until shadowed forms does it take

Demons crawl from the shadowed shapes
The ground bursts open at the seams
The trees ignite in fiery flames
And no one can hear your screams

You start to run
As the fire rages
Only to find you cannot escape
The swarm of demon sages

You begin to burn
As the fire consumes you
Only to find death is not an escape
From the fate you were condemned to

You live in fire
Cursed by a spell
Destined to continue living this way
The day you were sent to Hell
