Cheerless Eyes

by Shædow Poet   Sep 30, 2004

Cheerless Eyes

I see the swirling pool of water
Contained in your sapphire vision
The puddles that fell are evident
Reforming those in your watery prison.

I can see the heartache left
The barrier you have created
The shield that leaves me struggling
From all those girls you've loved then hated.

I perceive a distinctive struggle
That your wills of life have clashed
Your reality is having a mixture
After all those dreams you've lost, trashed.

Your outer look keeps me wondering
How much can these two opals tell me?
Your posture keeps others relaxed
Those windows let your emotions free.

I cannot find a hint of passion
It seems it has withered away
You've been moulded to fit others criteria
Like a big slab of coffee clay.

In the warmth of your baby blues
I see everything you've hid
All the pain that you've lived through
The ounces of hurt, your father did.

I see your frightened childhood
While you were drawing in a big book
Every quiver that travelled down your spine
For every yell and hit your daddy took.

I can see the life in you, gone, dead
I can see every crystallised cry
I can see a soul without a joyful thought
I can see cheerless eyes.
