Time is telling

by Mustardhart   Sep 30, 2004

When dreams are dreamt
When words of promises made
When covenant stones are erected
When in solemn mood oaths taken
Only time will tell.

When God said, ?it won?t rain to kill?
When we promise allegiance
When we pray mercy
When the reality of life dawn as dew drops
Only time will tell.

So much lies lately
So much unfaithfulness
So much hurt, we?ve created
So much cheating and insincerity
I can see time is telling.

When we dream dreams
When we speak promises
When we erect stones in covenant
Or speak oaths at monuments
What do we intend to achieve?
Time is fast telling.

Time is fast telling
The kind of heart we have
The sort of people we really are
The kind of mind we posses
Time is fast telling
Whether we are up to any good.
