THE QUEST FOR KNOWLEDGE

by AV   Oct 3, 2004

On The Day Which I Was Born
Nothing Did I Know
Neither The Endless Sky Above
Nor The Fathomless Waters Below,

Slowly I Started Learning Things
My Mind Underwent A Change
The Ideas That Formerly Seemed New
Were No More Queer Or Strange,

My Journey On The Path Of Knowledge
Seemed To Speed Up Fast
As I Realized This Sea Of Knowledge
Was Really Very Vast,

But Still I Had A Ray Of Hope
These Lands I Would Conquer Some Day
The More I Sought The More I Found
The Long Road That Before Me Lay,

This Ray Of Hope Inspired Me
I Walked On The Road With Zest
My Eagerness To Learn Yet More
Edged Me On In My Quest,

I Faced The Kingdom Of Knowledge
In Its Full Splendor
I Realized That I Couldn’t Conquer
I Knew I Would Have To Surrender,

The More I Learnt, The More I Seemed
From The Kingdom Of Knowledge Exiled
And Now I Know I Am As Ignorant
As When I Was A Child!
