I Need You

by Unseen Exposure   Oct 3, 2004

Hey God
Sorry, it's me again
Don't mean to bother you
I just need a friend

If you're not too busy
I'm saying a prayer
Secretly hoping that
You'll see me there

I don't go to church
They all say I should
But I don't believe in the bible
So it won't do any good

I search to find words
To express how I feel
The way I can't breathe
It's all so unreal

I try to imagine
That heaven is true
And that angels exist
So I can believe in you

I can no longer walk
This path on my own
I need you to guide me
I can't make it alone

Loneliness is bitter
And now I finally see
That to get through this life
I must believe in me

God, I don't know too much
There's one thing that I do
If you don't answer this prayer
I won't make it through

Please don't make me beg
I've come on my knees
These two hands are lifted
As words soar in the breeze

I come to you now
With one last wish to fulfill
So if you are listening
Please help - if you will.

^ I'm having a writers block, and I know that this poem is, well, less than perfect to say the least. But it's the best I could come up with.
