Untill you can see the bone

by Jacquie   Oct 4, 2004

Go inside and cut your arm so deep that you can see the bone
Besause you have that certain life
that not everybody\'s known

your mom
she\'s always yelling
whiskey\'s always on her breath
I guess it isn\'t always mom
who knows
the very best

Your dad
his hands are strong
Especially when they\'re at your face
he always thinks that his bare fists
will put you in your place

At school
You\'re just the outcast
The one who\'s almost gone
You\'re fading, Your leaving
No one knows for just how long

Your life
It was perfect
what went wrong?
You\'re not quite sure
All you know is that \"little girl\"
Is no longer pure

Your heart is black
Your face is white
Blood has dyed your arm
The skin is red
Your scabs are dead
These prove you\'ve done much harm

So you\'re sitting in the counsler\'s room
Staring out the window
Cause someone saw
and some one knows
but who?
You can\'t figure out
You lie and say you didn\'t
Then they ask you to show
Your eyes get teary as you lift up your sleeve

The tears start flowing out
That\'s when you begin to shout
You shout you hate this
As the counsler inspects your arm
You shout you want to die
When you are done you can\'t do anything
Anyhting but cry

U walk out
You shut the door
Cause no one\'s ever known
You go inside and cut your arm
So deep you can see the bone

Great poem, describes a lot of people's suffering really well. Relatable. Very very good poem. Job well done!
