Gods And Demons

by David Munoz   Oct 4, 2004

Long ago
In a war with unknown odds
Raged a battle of demons
And of the gods

In the land Mesheryk
Dwelled a great king of men
Whose great armies conquered
Destroying all who opposed them

But fate changed the world
For on that cold winter morn
Demons rose up from Hell
And struck all the first born

The land was coated red
The earth stained in blood
The peasants chained as slaves
Trudging in the crimson mud

The world was ruled by chaos
Life was hell on earth
Ending mercifully at the time of death
Beginning the moment of birth

For 500 years
Men were bound
Forced to Awaken each day
At a screaming sound

Until one day
One brave soul escaped
Fleeing the land
Were his soul was staked

He wandered the land
Searching harder and faster
Looking for mighty gods
Who could overcome his demon masters

His search lasted months
Searching then resting a spell
Until he finally found the place
Where the gods dwell

He stood in awe at the sight he saw
A magnificent city of gold
Filled with gods and goddesses
To whom his story he told

So furious were the gods that day
That they stormed the gates of hell
Where the greatest of all battles was fought
As the legends tell

The mighty forces come together
Armor and steel clashed
Their unholy powers strikes together
Overhead lightning flashed

The demons holding to the dark of night
The gods bringing the coming day
The number of beings lost that moment
Is a number none can say

The battle was given to men that day
The demons locked in hell behind bars
But demons sent the gods away
Locking them in the stars

Men were left to govern the world
No ungodly beings to lead them
Ever since that fateful day
When the gods fought the demons
