One Night

by Matthew   Oct 4, 2004

Our hearts beat as one.
My eyes locked on yours.
Our bodies pressed together,
Like the waves upon the shore.

I hold you close
And squeeze you tight.
You’ve never known these pleasures,
At least not until tonight.

So I touch you softly,
Whispering sweet nothings in your ear.
I calm your nerves.
I erase your fears.

You begin to quiver,
There’s a shortness of breath.
Your body becomes all tense
As I begin to kiss your chest.

Then all is silent,
And we lay side by side.
Then there is a new sound
As you begin to cry.

Tears not of pain
or the feeling of sad.
Tears of knowing the pleasure,
The love that we had.
