Temptation

by Danielle   Oct 5, 2004

Soft gold shimmers among the boxes of dust
For reflection of times kindled with lust
But with the smooth eased sensations of truth
The denial was wept from tears of pure youth

Her touch washed away memories of happiness
Blood from her sorrow sweetened pain much less
But all the butterflies and green patches of moss
Were gathered on a canvas painted with blades of loss

Vivid captions haunted her into chills of terror
Yet she knew emotions would capture her later
The sense of uneasiness swept at her from inside
Eyes cold with her empty hands had nothing to hide

Stormy winds blew on a cascade of gushing water
But this place by the moment was getting hotter
The ice melted from the continuous glare of hate
And comfort lied for a while until time took its place

The torn cloth and unsettled mind was burned
Cut into little pieces that had yet to be heard
It was covered and to be forgotten from pain
This time her once beautiful wings closed in

Unfinished notes had no hope of getting better
So will from underneath tied the lose tether
It heard the cries that were going down in flames
And the calm voice gently called out her name

It relieved her of the suffering and torment
And watched over her with a warm silhouette
She awakened from her dream beside her friend
And realized not where life ends but where it begins.
