What Ifs

by Amanda   Oct 6, 2004

Nothing seems right everthing’s gone wrong
He doesn’t know what he means to me
He doesn’t care
All I can do is sit here and ask what ifs
What ifs are the dreams of the heart
That the mind puts into perspective
You can’t stop them no matter how hard you try.
They’re always there dormant at times but still alive
A thousand tears will be shed when you think of your past
You try to push forward and think of your present
Because the present is the happiest time of all
Unless you spend the present dwelling on the past.
You feel alone, no one understands
You’re told “get over him”
But you can’t
He’s there in your past, present, and future
He always will be
To see him for one moment
To tell him your feelings
To show him that you care
He may not know now but you
Could love him better than anyone ever could
The be with him-
That is my biggest dream, my biggest what if.
