When The War Is Over, At An End...

by Eibutsina   Oct 6, 2004

**I REALLY DIDN'T WANT TO POST THIS IN SLANG BUT IT KEEPS TELLING ME THERES TOO MANY SPELLING MISTAKES - SO ENJOY GUYS**

~Part One: Through a Child’s Eyes~

I haven’t seen my Daddy in I forgot how long
We have to keep moving don’t know what we’re running from
Mommy says Daddy is fighting hard in our Army
That because of what we believe they’ll kill Mommy and they’ll harm me…
She says no matter what we must give Thanks each day
Because of all the bad men, we have even more reason to pray
I miss my bed and our old home, but we had to leave
There were bombs and loud gunshots on last Christmas Eve…
Mommy cradled my brother said we must go to be safe
The radio said something about invasions and needing to evacuate
But I don’t understand why we left in the dark at midnight
I cried for my teddy but Mommy said I’d be all right…
Since then I haven’t been to school or seen any of my friends
Mommy says we’ll go home when the war is over, at an end…

~Part Two: Through a Fiancée’s Eyes~

I knew from the instant appearance of that telegram
That is was sent via enlistment to take my man
It claimed that our country required his personal help
But I couldn’t bare to be left in our home by myself…
My darling I love you and I could never live with out you
If you were lost to this war what on earth would I do?
My everything my love, to me you are my all
And I will stand firmly with you behind those enemy walls…
But you cannot my angel you must let me go
I’ll write and love you more each day this you know
Please my darling wipe those tears of sadness away
I promise when the war is over I’ll come back you some day…
So she watches him slowly put on his military uniform
As he stands tall in line with his gun and conforms
When will she see again the love on which she has learnt to depend?
She knows only when the war is over, at an end…

~Part Three: Through a Mother’s Eyes~

I can’t believe they have the nerve to call upon my youngest son
I’ve already lost my middle and eldest ones
He does not need to fight a war in order to succeed
Please Dear God he is my last and only seed…
Please let this one stay, safe at home with his mother
He’s my only son left and I have got no other
He will not enlist, my apologies I must say no
He is all that I have left and I cannot let him go…
But with all his pride and his love in vain
He continues the same life of his brothers yet again
He realises how much its hurting his mother inside
But he realizes act the man and fight for his pride…
Her heart is eternally broken with no chance to mend
But when her child returns when the war is over, at an end…

~Part Four: Through a Father’s Eyes~

That is it my son seize the moment that is now
You’re a soldier and you can defeat them all some how
Today my son is the day you become a man
And that you must vow to fight this war as best you can…
Beside your fellow countrymen you must stand
It’s your calling and duty as a man you understand?
You must be more brace now my son that have you ever
And know that out that there roughing it, you soldiers will be together…
So in spite of that you must be able to swallow your pride
That fear will get you killed you must learn to hide
Today I am so amazingly proud to be your Dad
Although this upsets your mother makes her cry so terribly sad…
We have no more children to this war to lend
And the greatest pain knowing the will never return
Not even when the war is over, at an end…
