In My Silent Field

by Ashley   Oct 6, 2004

A rush of cold chills to my bones
I look up to see the light blue fade to a dusty red
Staring at the abyss, the long unknown
A million thoughts barreling through my head

Euphoria overcomes me as I stand in the barren field
The silence is whispering secrets of the past
All pain, hate, and frustration are at a yield
I have reached my utopia at last

The warm hand of comfort rests upon my shoulder
I see a glance of sweet harmony in the dirt
Keeping my mind on the moment, I know I soon will grow older
But as this feeling continues, I know no hurt.

This is the only escape I have to feel rejoice
When everything is put at a yield
I can only hear the soft whisper of my voice
This is my time, alone, in my silent field
