Inferno In Utero

by Pygmalion   Oct 6, 2004

The moon gazes on the dark streets
In the silence, you hear the heartbeats
Countless memories of unknown crimes
In this or a dozen of other lifetimes

You can smell the sweating fear
Of one lonely and forgotten tear
Just keep on trying to get asleep
Oh, God, the night is so deep

Forgotten by the world, mercied by no soul
By our race we're called, as one whole
A mother utters a forsaken moan
For tomorrow, her child will be born

And so the night travels away
On this so dark and rotten life in May
This spring we cry over the newborn trees
For they uproot over mass graves fields

Dawn reaches, hope fades away
Will there be any survivors this May
Goodbye, my friend, adieu
The chambers are waiting for you

See him walking, with his kids and spouse
Like defenceless sheep to the slaughterhouse
Have you any idea where we are sent
God, every moment can be the end

Machine guns and screams create a symphony
No one hears, they just see the chimney
Without even following the rhythm
The just made the nicest death requiem

Although not parting, people say goodbye
For their end no one on earth can deny
Even the mother whispers to her unborn baby
I'll meet you someday, in heaven maybe

Later that afternoon, the people are no more
The rain is so black, no one's ever seen before
Unborn babies have died, and so did their mother
All gassed up in one big smother

Dawn has reached, hope has faded away
There were no survivors this May
Goodbye, my friend, adieu
The chambers are steaming with you
