Pride

by ChildofGod87   Oct 7, 2004

When a person caught in the Performance Trap achieves success, they may become cocky and arrogant and subtly look down on all the "failures," known as friends, around them. Pride sometimes disguises itself as self-confidence, but that's all it is--a disguise. It's a mask we wear to hind our fear of failure. What's more, the prideful feelings we experience as a result of success come and go, because failure is a sobering fact of life.
