Until I Meet You

**This poem was written for me not by me...**

As I'm sitting here deep in thought, thinkin of you
Reflecting on all the things that we've been through
When we first spoke, our connection was clear
And it's grown stronger and stronger over the years
I knew from day one that I wanted you to be mine
You're intelligent, funny, and so-so fine ;-)
You said you were taken--no surprise to me
If the good ones all are, why would the best one not be?
Now, after so long of patiently waitin
Turns to a short time of anticipation
Over and over, I've dreamt of when I'd look in your eyes,
Take you by the hand, and ask you to be mine
So anxious for the day, we finally meet,
Surely the past 6 years werent as long as these weeks
Even now, my heart races and my head is spinning
Not waiting for the climax...just the beginning...
Of the beautiful relationship I want with you,
built on the years of friendship we've gone through
Until that day comes, I'll continue to dream
Of holding you in my arms, looking you in the eyes and asking you to
be mine. :-)
