Her Fate

by Hannah Leigh Pate   Oct 7, 2004

As the young girl passes through the hall
With a beautiful face, she is adored by all.
She holds a secret, a forbidden lie
She fakes some laughs, crying inside.

When she arrives at her middle-class house
She quickly sneaks in, quiet as a mouse.
The door squeaks quietly, hardly a noise is traced
Her father comes raging, with anger in his face.

He hits her hard, with the back of his hand
She falls violently to the ground, crying again.
He yells loudly, but she can't hear a word
He walks off angrily, leaving bruises on her.

She attempts to stand, but falls to her knees
She murmurs, "It's time, God, kill me please!"
As she looks into her father's strained face
Her vision blacks out forever, this was her fate.
