My Biggest fear

by livefreebright   Oct 8, 2004

Before you pull that trigger
Calm down, let your mind linger
Think of all the people that would cry
As they keep asking themselves why
Why would she want to take her life
Why did she have to pick up that knife
Where things really that bad that she had to do it
Did her mind finally hit that bottomless pit
What was the last thing that ran trhough her mind
All she wanted was to leave this life behind
I wish I had a change to forgive
For all the times she made me not want to live
But I was strong and I moved on
Now it's too late for her, she's gone
If only she gave things another chance
I wish she could have that final dance
As I stare at her empty seat
I think of the thing she couldn't beat
I never realized death was so near
It's always been my biggest fear

~this poem is for a girl i knew from grade school who hung herself last month. i had hated her because she always teased me but i still cried when she died~
